Medical Assistant – Plastic surgery

 

Well established private group practice needs an experienced Clinical Medical Assistant to provide first class patient care and support one Physician and his patients.   Practice centrally located in San Diego.

 

Requirements:

 

·        Medical Assistant with at least 2 years recent work experience as a Medical Assistant in a private practice or clinic setting

·        Strong commitment to patient care and customer service

·        Experience with plastic and /or cosmetic surgery preferred

·        Ability to provide clinical patient care as well as scheduling

office visits and surgery

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

·        Greet and room patients, take and record vital signs

·        Assist Physician with patient office visits, set up trays and assist with office procedures

·        Assist patients with follow up visits including removal of sutures and dressing changes

·        Prepare rooms and stock with supplies, autoclave instruments

·        Provide information to patients, train and educate patients regarding office visits, procedures and preparations for procedures

·        Administrative duties including insurance authorizations, scheduling office visits and surgery scheduling

·        Prescription refills

·        Other duties may be assigned by Doctor and Office Manager

 

The practice provides a stable and professional work environment with good team work and opportunity for advancement.

 

Full time permanent position Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.

 

The rate of pay is $14.00 – 17.00 hr. and up to start based on experience.

Health & dental & insurance.  Paid holidays & vacation time.  401K saving plan.

Requirements:

·        Experience with cardiology preferred

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

·        Room patients and take vital signs

·        Assist Physicians with patient office visits

·        Prepare rooms and stock with supplies

·        Run tests for patients according to Doctors orders: EKG, Stress test, stress echo, etc.

·        May do occasional blood draws and assist with lab

·        Provide information to patients, train and educate patients regarding office visits, tests and procedures

·        Administrative duties including recording lab results to patient charts and calling patients with results

·        Prescription refills

Growing provider of Durable Medical Equipment looking for an experienced and self motivated CSR Lead. Responsible for leading a team in processing orders, including authorization and Medicare / Medical billing.   Qualified candidate will have DME experience with a strong knowledge of Medical / Medicare and private insurance billing for DME products including wheelchairs.  Will be responsible for training, motivating and supervising the work of a department team as well as reporting production and compliance to corporate office.  Strong computer skills essential.

Writing a good resume for 2010

Writing a good resume for 2010

 

In today’s competitive job market it is really important to have a good resume.   But that does not mean you should pay someone to write a resume for you.   You can and should do it your self.  It is really quite easy to create a good resume.   Most likely your computer word processing software has a template you can use as an outline.   You basically just need a summary of your work history.  It should be in chronological order, with your most recent position listed first.  List the name of the company you worked for, your job title, the dates of employment and a brief summary of your daily duties in that position.    Continue to list your previous jobs in this manner.   Be sure to provide accurate dates, preferably with a month and year, so that the reader will know if you worked at that particular position for 2 months or two years.  

 

Be mindful of using graphics or headers for you contact information, i.e. name, address and phone number.  Very often companies use software to scan and store your resume; such software may not be able to “read” and store graphics and headers.  I recommend you use a regular font for your name and address and not a graphic or header.

 

It is essential that you spell check your resume and also check for proper grammar.  Remember, spell check may not catch all your errors.   For example, if you use the word “there” instead of “their” spell check will not notice and correct that for you.   So proof read your resume carefully.  It is difficult to proof your own work as you read it without really reading it, because you already know what it says.   Perhaps you can ask someone else to proof read it for you.  Or a good trick is to read the sentences backwards, this somehow tricks your mind and you will catch your mistakes.   If your resume has more than one typo on it, you may be wasting your time and energy to even send it out.  You should be sending the very best representation of yourself that you can, it does not have to be fancy but is does have to be accurate with good spelling and grammar.

 

Keep your resume short and concise.  A one page resume is the trend currently.

 

So, just go ahead and write something.   Your first attempt is just that, your first attempt, not a finished product.  Once you have something on paper you can work on it, think about it, change it and improve it until you have the perfect resume that you feel good about and which represents you well.
